A new Kimpton hotel is set to be built in downtown Orlando’s Westcourt mixed-use project, thanks to a partnership between Machete Group and JMA Ventures. The 11-story hotel will boast 261 rooms, over 16,000 square feet of meeting space, a full-service restaurant and bar, cafe, pool with accompanying bar and lounge. Located near the Orlando Magic’s Kia Center arena on Church Street, the hotel pool will offer stunning views from its third-floor location above the lobby.
According to reports from the Orlando Business Journal , plans for The Westcourt project have been in motion since 2011 when city officials approved a feasibility study for a sports and entertainment district. In 2013 an entity linked to the Orlando Magic acquired most of the land for this development which spans across an impressive 8.5 acres. With phase one expected to cost upwards of $500 million dollars for its massive size of nearly one million square feet alone – it’s clear that this ambitious project is set to make waves in downtown Orlando upon completion.
