"New Developer Secures Development Rights for 16-Story High-Rise in Orlando"

The 550 Mariposa project, located just south of Lake Eola in Orlando, has found a new developer in the Shoma Group. The New York-based Lexin Capital was previously pursuing this development.

According to the Orlando Business Journal, the high-rise will now be known as 550 Shoma and will include a new location for Shoma Bazaar – an innovative food hall experience operated by the group. Plans for this 16-story building with retail space totaling at 17,160 square feet were originally filed by Lexin Capital in April of 2022. However, construction is set to begin in second-quarter of 2024 and expected to be completed sometime in 2026 under the guidance of Shoma Group.

In addition to its unique culinary concept, residents can look forward to one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments ranging from sizes between756 and1 ,472 square feet along with live/work units measuring at1 ,229 square feet . Amenities such as a fitness center , yoga studio , business center/co-working cafe pool area movie theater dog spa storage units are among some perks that residents can enjoy .

This planned high-rise development has recently made headlines due its change in developers .
