Skender has successfully completed the construction of Ace Hardware Corporation’s new headquarters, a 250,000-square-foot project located at 2915 Jorie Boulevard in Oak Brook. The former McDonald’s corporate campus has been transformed into a modern and well-equipped workplace for the hardware retailer.
The project team consisted of Skender as the general contractor, CBRE Design Collective as the architect, and ESD (now Stantec Consulting Services) as the engineer.
According to Tom Walsh, Project Manager at Skender: “We have worked closely with Ace throughout all stages of this project – from pre-construction and budgeting to design and completion. It was exciting to see their enthusiasm grow with each milestone.”
Designed by Dirk Lohan in 1988, this campus spans over 80 acres and previously housed Hamburger University training facility spanning over 130,484 square feet. In recent years however,Mcdonald’s moved its headquarters to downtown Chicago in order for it be more accessible.
