Jacksonville has recently granted a building permit to Industrial Building Group for the construction of a 275,000-square-foot cold storage warehouse. This is in line with the growing demand for industrial properties in the area. Several refrigeration and cold-storage projects are currently underway, particularly in North Jacksonville.

The FreezePak facility will have an estimated cost of $48.8 million and will cover 212,000 square feet of freezer space, along with a loading dock spanning 43,680 square feet and office/mechanical space totaling 9,728 square feet.

Construction on this development began in August 2023 and is expected to be completed by October 2024.

FreezePak Logistics prides itself as one of the top third-party food logistics companies. The company plans to provide various services at their new facility including blast freezing, cross-docking transportation services as well as repacking options.

According to reports from Jacksonville Daily Record , FreezPak has confirmed that their cold-storage and distribution center will employ at least eighty individuals by end-2027.
