Great Expectations, a real estate firm specializing in the development and acquisition of low-income and workforce housing, recently completed Betula House apartment building near Seattle University and Swedish Cherry Hill. Rush Construction served as the general contractor while Hybrid Architecture designed the project. Arboreal – a brand related to Great Expectations with construction and apartment management arms – will manage the property.
The four-story, 25,000 square foot development at 355 15th Ave., Seattle features 50 units; 36 of which are 270 square foot small efficiency dwelling units along with 446 square foot one bedroom units as well as two bedroom options. Before opening its doors nearly 100% of its apartments were preleased to healthcare workers, young professionals & students alike; work on this project began after Great Expectations acquired it for $2.7 million in December 2020 followed by ground breaking in November 2021 .
