"New $141M Meat Plant in Glenview Announced by UPSIDE Foods"

Leading cultivated meat, poultry, and seafood company UPSIDE Foods has announced plans to establish its first commercial-scale production facility in Glenview, Illinois. The 187,000-square-foot plant will initially produce ground-cultivated chicken products and has future plans for expansion into other species and whole-textured formats.

This new facility will not only contribute to the state’s thriving food processing industry but also support Illinois’ ecosystem. With an investment of at least $141 million and the creation of a minimum of 75 jobs through one of the first EDGE for Start Ups agreements, UPSIDE Foods is making a significant impact on local communities.

Governor JB Pritzker stated that Illinois is a hub for tech and innovation due to its skilled workforce and strategic location in the Midwest. This new plant further solidifies this reputation while also promoting clean energy goals towards creating a more sustainable future.
