Notorious Austin commercial real estate developer, Nate Paul, has been arrested on a federal warrant and is being held in the Travis County Jail. Paul’s company, World Class Holdings, has faced numerous lawsuits and bankruptcies as well as foreclosures. According to the Austin Business Journal reports, Paul had amassed dozens of properties in Austin which he was not shy about advertising with banners proclaiming “Another World Class Property”.
In 2019 his office was raided by federal investigators leading to a series of bankruptcy filings for World Class Holdings. In 2021 they lost their portfolio across multiple foreclosure sales followed by further legal wrangling that saw them forced to sell off some of their most desirable properties through bankruptcy proceedings in 2022.
The reason for Nate Paul’s detention remains unclear at this time
