Nashville Tech School Site Being Considered for Mixed Use Redevelopment

Southern Land Co. has finalized the purchase of more than 16 acres in East Nashville with plans to redevelop the site. The company paid $33.75 million for the property, which currently houses Lincoln School of Technology and is affiliated with an LLC owned by Lincoln Educational Services Corp., who purchased it from Nashville Auto-Diesel College in 2003.

Tim Downey, founder and CEO of Southern Land Co., stated that their goal is “to design a vibrant mixed-use community that will artfully serve people living in East Nashville as a walkable neighborhood that enhances their lives”. The project will include 800 multifamily units, 300,000 square feet of commercial space, live-work units as well as three parking structures and up to 150 single family homes or townhomes while still allowing Lincoln School of Technology to continue operations until they secure a new home for themselves elsewhere onsite .
