Nykia Wright has been officially appointed as the permanent Chief Executive Officer of the National Association of Realtors (NAR), effective immediately. With a strong background in driving organizational transformation, Wright has been serving as interim CEO since November 2023.
Wright brings a wealth of executive leadership and strategic advisory experience to her new role at NAR. She previously served as CEO for the Chicago Sun-Times, where she successfully led the newspaper through a major digital transformation and oversaw its merger with WBEZ (Chicago Public Media).
During her initial time at NAR, Wright played an instrumental role in negotiating settlements for claims made by home sellers regarding broker commissions. In accepting her new position, she stated: “I am fully aware of our past and present challenges and my main focus is on building trust with all stakeholders so that we can effectively serve our members.”
Before joining NAR, Wright began her career in financial services before becoming a consultant specializing in strategy and business transformation projects for top companies and universities across various industries.
