"NanoGraf, a Chicago Company, Plans $175M Manufacturing Plant in Michigan"

NanoGraf, a company based in Chicago, has announced plans to construct a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at the Flint Commerce Center in Michigan. The former Buick City site will be transformed into this new $175 million factory.

Thanks to a $60 million investment from the federal government, NanoGraf’s project will support the production of 2,500 tons of silicon battery anode materials per year. This expansion into Michigan will allow NanoGraf to meet national demands for high-performing electric vehicle batteries and consumer electronics on a larger scale.

According to CEO Francis Wang, this move is crucial for meeting market demand and positioning NanoGraf as an industry leader. The company plans to create 150 permanent jobs at the new facility and hire 200 temporary workers during construction.

The Flint Commerce Center was previously known as Buick City before being purchased by New York-based Ashley Capital. Last month, it signed its first tenant – Victory Packaging – as part of its ongoing redevelopment project. With NanoGraf now joining them as their second business partner in this venture, it is clear that the future looks bright for both companies and their impact on economic growth in Michigan.
