MRP Realty and Florida Rock, developers of Dock 79 and the Maren, have proposed a change to their project’s final phase near Nationals Park. According to the Washington Business Journal, they are seeking approval from the D.C. Zoning Commission for additional residential units with some ground-floor retail instead of an office and hotel project that was previously approved. This would complete their transformation of a former concrete plant into a mixed-use development spanning 1.1 million square feet.
The two new buildings in this final phase will be 130 feet tall each, one with 309 units and another with 281 units along with approximately 6,331 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. The development will also include parking for up to385 vehicles.The listed architect for this project is SK+I Architecture Design Group LLC while Oculus Inc., based in St.Louis,is responsible for landscape architecture.
