A variance has been approved by a Houston zoning authority for Mighty Equities to proceed with their proposed 80-room hotel in the Montrose area. The hotel will still need to go through the standard permitting process before construction can begin.
The designated property for the hotel is a vacant half-acre lot and will feature not only 80 rooms, but also 19,000 square feet of amenity space including restaurants, bars, a beer garden and rooftop pool.
In addition to an on-site parking garage with space for 18 cars, there will be an additional off-site parking option of 85 spots located on Crocker Street.
Mighty Equities anticipates that this project will create between 300-400 jobs during its construction phase. They have also partnered with University of Houston’s Conrad N. Hilton College of Global Hospitality Leadership to provide students in their global hospitality business program hands-on experience in operating a hotel.
At this time, no official timeline has been released by Mighty Equities regarding when construction is expected to commence on this exciting new Hyde Park Hotel project.
