**Mortenson, Perkins&Will Awarded $1.7B Harborview Bond Contract**
King County and UW Medicine have announced that Mortenson and Perkins&Will have been selected as the design-build team for the Harborview Medical Center’s $1.74 billion bond program.
Following a comprehensive selection process, Mortenson and Perkins&Will were awarded the contract as part of the Harborview Bond Program, which was approved by King County voters in November 2020. The program will fund a new multi-story inpatient medical tower, major improvements to hospital infrastructure, and renovations across the Harborview campus.
“Mortenson and Perkins&Will are honored to partner with King County and Harborview Medical Center on this transformative project,” said a spokesperson for the design-build team. “We’re excited to bring our deep expertise in healthcare design and construction to support Harborview’s mission.”
The new tower is expected to break ground in 2027 or 2028. Throughout all construction phases, the hospital will continue operating at full capacity, ensuring uninterrupted patient care during the development process.
