Monumental Sports & Entertainment has announced an expanded partnership with KPMG, naming the firm as its official consulting and advisory partner.
Under this new agreement, KPMG will play a crucial role in enhancing the fan experience and community impact at Capital One Arena. This arena is home to both the Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards teams. Additionally, KPMG will provide guidance for technology upgrades and modernization efforts within the arena. They will also assist Monumental with expanding their business operations in downtown D.C.
Earlier this year, a deal was struck between Monumental Sports & Entertainment and the city of D.C., ensuring that both teams would remain in their current location until at least 2050. As part of this agreement, $515 million over three years will be invested by the city to support owner Ted Leonsis’ plans for renovations at Capital One Arena.
Jim Van Stone from Monumental expressed excitement about this partnership stating: “There has never been a more pivotal time for our organization as we embark on transforming Capital One Arena into an iconic hub of sports and entertainment in our nation’s capital.”
