A new Home Depot store, spanning 138,000 square feet, is set to open in Montgomery – an hour north of Houston. The store will be located on a 10-acre plot at the intersection of Buffalo Springs Drive and state Highway 105. Construction is scheduled to begin in spring and finish by October next year.
The upcoming Home Depot will serve as the anchor tenant for Buffalo Springs Shopping Center alongside Kroger’s grocery store. The center is owned by Milestone Cos and the construction of Home Depot is estimated to cost $13.8 million.
According to reports from Houston Business Journal, Home Depot will also fund a $1.4 million improvement project for a section of Buffalo Springs Drive. As part of this agreement, the city has committed to reimbursing $674,000 through annual sales tax grants over time – making it Montgomery’s first major hardware retailer.
