The former site of the Downtown Raleigh train station has been rezoned and is now ready for redevelopment. The North Carolina Railroad Company is taking steps to construct a 30,000-square-foot building on the previous depot parking lot. This new development will feature retail, office, and amenity spaces totaling 29,080 square feet. Additionally, there will be two outdoor urban plazas and a rooftop deck.
Despite these changes, parking will still be available on the 0.76-acre site with a surface lot providing 40 spaces.
According to reports from Triangle Business Journal , another project is in progress across the tracks at 327 W. Davie St., which includes two new buildings along with residential units, retail space, and offices connected by a parking garage.
The Warehouse District continues to thrive as evidenced by recent openings such as La Terrazza on The Dillon’s ninth floor and Figulina replacing Humble Pie’s location.
