Avison Young has been hired by Avon Lake Environmental Redevelopment Group, LLC (ALERG) to sell 43.23 acres of lakefront property located at 33570 Lake Road in Avon Lake, Ohio. This land is part of the larger initiative to redevelop the former Avon Lake Power Plant and activate the shoreline of Lake Erie after a major environmental remediation project.
The team representing ALERG includes Don Lydon from Avison Young’s Cleveland office and Richard Shields and Judson Martin from their Chicago office. In 2022, ALERG acquired the former power plant and worked with the city of Avon Lakes to create a plan for its redevelopment.
According to Lydon, “The impact that this project will have on both local communities as well as national objectives goes beyond traditional real estate development. With favorable interest rates currently available, we believe this is an ideal opportunity for new owners to join our efforts.”
