Dorchester, a tiny Grayson County town with less than 150 people located 15 miles south of the Oklahoma border, is set to become the site of a sizable mixed-use development. A master-planned community planned in the town will be near Texas Instruments’ new manufacturing plant and business park being created by Texas Instruments, Finisar and other large corporations. GlobiTech has also set up shop in neighboring Sherman.
Centurion American recently secured $17 million from Trez Capital to begin phase one of what’s to be called Cottonwood – 360 lots on 100+ acres that are expected to be completed by 2025. The project will offer over 2,000 lots for diverse community options and amenities including 1,400 rental units as well as 250,000 square feet of commercial and retail space plus multiple school sites and nature trails included in its plan.
