The Austin HOPE Center has reached a significant construction milestone with the raising of the building’s final beam. Located at 5036 W. Chicago Ave., this $22 million, 25,000-square-foot, three-story health and wellness facility recently celebrated the achievement with members of the community and project stakeholders.

Expected to open in late summer 2026, the HOPE Center will offer pediatric specialty and behavioral health care services. The project is being developed through a partnership with the Austin community, Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives, Lurie Children’s Hospital, and Stone Community Development Corporation, with support from the City of Chicago and several philanthropic organizations.

“This project reflects the power of partnership and our commitment to ensuring that health equity isn’t an aspiration—it’s a reality,” said Dr. Tom Shanley, President and CEO of Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.

In addition to healthcare services, the facility will also include a full-service Wintrust Bank branch, contributing to comprehensive community support. The construction of the HOPE Center is being led by a locally Black-owned design and construction team, including UJAMAA Construction, Gregory Ramon Design Studio, and TnS Studio.

The development aims to significantly contribute to health equity and economic revitalization on Chicago’s West Side.
