Chicago developer John Buck is looking to sell his 42-story apartment building, Mila Chicago. Located on Michigan Avenue, the property had previously been part of a deal last year but the transaction fell through, according to Crain’s Chicago Business. The sale comes at an uncertain time as lenders show decreased interest in downtown real estate and higher interest rates create challenges for prospective buyers.
Construction of the Mila project began in 2014 with residents moving into the building two years later. Newmark’s Senior Managing Director Elizabeth Gagliardi is marketing it for sale reported Crain’s .
John Buck Company has invested assets totaling more than $8 billion and acquired or developed 47 million square feet of office, residential and mixed-use properties across its portfolio.
