Selfhelp Community Services has recently secured a new headquarters lease for 45,689 square feet at 1180 Avenue of the Americas in Midtown. The nonprofit organization, which serves over 25,000 older and vulnerable adults, will occupy the entire second and third floors. This long-term leasehold arrangement includes tax exemptions and was facilitated by Thomas Hines, Stephen Powers, Lindsay Ornstein and Alex Smith of OPEN on behalf of Selfhelp Community Services. On the other hand,the landlord Northwood Investors LLC was represented by Bryan Boisi,Micheal Baraldi,and Harry Blair from Cushman & Wakefield.Additionally,Laura Sugarman from Benesch provided legal counsel to the tenant.
According to Stuart C.Kaplan,the CEO of Selfhelp Community Services,this new headquarters lease not only reduces their tax burden but also provides them with a top-quality custom-designed space that caters to both staff members and clients while meeting their unique needs.He further expressed excitement about seeing this new space come together.
