Microsoft Has No Intention of Adopting Amazon's RTO Policy

During a recent internal meeting, Scott Guthrie, the Executive Vice President of Microsoft’s Cloud + AI group, reassured employees that the company has no plans to end its flexible work policy. This will only change if productivity levels begin to decline.

While other companies in Seattle, such as Amazon, have recently mandated that corporate staff must work in-office five days a week, Microsoft is taking a different approach for now. The company remains committed to its hybrid work model and will continue allowing employees to work remotely.

Earlier this year, Microsoft changed course from their initial plan of abandoning all office space in downtown Bellevue. Instead they decided to keep some space for their subsidiary LinkedIn at the Lincoln Square North Tower on 10401 NE Eighth Street.

As part of a $5 billion campus refresh project at their Redmond headquarters ,Microsoft has been selling off office space on the Eastside while simultaneously opening new buildings. This initiative includes replacing 12 older office buildings with approximately three million square feet spread across 17 new buildings.
