"Miami Redevelopment Project: 13th Floor Receives $309M Investment"

South Miami officials are set to announce 13th Floor Investments as the chosen bidder for a $309 million redevelopment plan. After a thorough Request for Proposal (RFP) process, this company was the sole candidate that met all of the town’s requirements.

The town has put out an RFP in search of a public-private partnership (P3) to redevelop the 4.5-acre site at 6130 Sunset Drive. This site is currently home to City Hall, the Police Department, and a branch of Miami-Dade County Library.

The proposed project, called Link at SoMi, will consist of two 15-story buildings with a total of 670 residential units and approximately 28,000 square feet dedicated to retail space. Additionally, there will be parking available with room for up to880 vehicles on-site. The project also includes plans for a five-story municipal building spanning over70 ,000 square feet which would house City Hall along with other government facilities such as the Police Department and library.

Miami-based Corwil Architects have been tasked with designing this ambitious project while Coral Gables-based RJ Heisenbottle Architects have been brought on board as historic preservation consultants.
