McLean County in Illinois has recently joined the growing list of counties implementing a C-PACE ordinance. The program will be administered by the Illinois Energy Conservation Authority NFP, a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. According to Cassy Taylor, County Administrator, this initiative offers commercial property owners an opportunity to improve energy efficiency and adds another tool for their capital stack.
Mark Pikus, president of IECA stated that the C-PACE program provides businesses with a convenient and cost-effective way to obtain up to 100% financing for clean energy and sustainability upgrades that can be repaid through property taxes. He also expressed excitement about McLean County’s adoption of this ordinance and looks forward to collaborating with local stakeholders in promoting its incentives.
