The McKinney National Airport is undergoing a $24 million improvement package, which includes a 500-foot extension of the runway and other upgrades. Additionally, four hotels are currently in the planning stages or under construction in the area. One of these is The Denizen McKinney, a boutique hotel located within District 121 development with an expected opening later this year.
Another upcoming hotel is A La Quinta-Hawthorn Extended Stay by Wyndham featuring approximately 100 rooms with both La Quinta guest rooms and Hawthorn Extended Stay guest rooms. This establishment will be situated near Hardin Boulevard and McKinney Ranch Parkway.
Residence Inn by Marriott will also be joining the hospitality scene in McKinney with its mix of studio-style rooms and one-bedroom suites.
Lastly, Tru by Hilton plans to complete its new location by November as well. With all these developments underway, it’s clear that hospitality business in McKinney is taking off.
