The McKinney Flour Mill, originally built in 1872 as a flour mill, is undergoing a transformation. The property, located at 407 E Louisiana St., currently serves as an event venue and houses several small businesses. However, with the addition of a boutique hotel and restaurant on the upper floors of the building, it will soon offer even more to visitors.
According to Community Impact reports, construction on the new hotel is set to begin in early 2025. The hotel will feature 35 rooms and provide guests with a unique experience while staying at this historic site.
On the ground floor of the building, there will be an upscale restaurant serving American cuisine for lunch and dinner hours. With seating for approximately 200 people and a mezzanine level that includes private dining space for about thirty guests,the restaurant promises to be an exciting addition to McKinney’s culinary scene.
This project coincides with another major development in downtown McKinney -the opening of their new city hall which is located nearby.The revitalization efforts taking place are sureto bring new life into this historic areaand attract visitors from nearand far.
