McKinney Scores $12M for Indoor Tennis Complex Construction

McKinney has grown over a third in size over the past decade, from 130,000 to 195,000 people. Sports are an important part of life in this growing town and recently opened is a $12 million indoor tennis court facility at Gabe Nesbitt Community Park located at 3253 Alma Road. The 55,000-square-foot complex features six courts as well as training rooms, administrative offices and locker rooms with a mezzanine level for viewing matches from the second floor.

Funding for the facility came from bond funds and Texas Parks & Wildlife grant funds with construction beginning early 2022. In addition to reservations for courts or private lessons there are various membership options available through The Courts of McKinney complex which also includes 23 outdoor tennis courts. A grand opening event is expected later this summer to celebrate its completion.
