**McKinney Considering Incentives for JW Marriott Resort Development**

The City of McKinney is evaluating a proposal to provide economic incentives for the development of a full-service JW Marriott hotel. If approved, the agreement would support the construction of a 290-room hotel featuring more than 50,000 square feet of conference space.

The proposed JW Marriott Resort McKinney Craig Ranch would be developed on an 8-acre site located at the northeast corner of Collin McKinney Parkway and Van Tuyl Parkway. Plans for the property include a wide range of luxury amenities, such as:

– A resort-style pool with a lazy river
– A full-service fitness center
– A three-meal restaurant and a specialty restaurant
– A lounge with terrace and poolside seating offering food and beverage service
– Pickleball courts
– Structured parking, along with valet and self-parking options
– A gift and sundries shop
– At least 45 for-sale condominiums served by a private amenity deck

To help facilitate the project, McKinney is considering a package of economic development incentives totaling between $13 million and $18 million. These would include reimbursements of sales taxes, property taxes, and hotel occupancy taxes.

Under the terms being considered, construction of the JW Marriott property would need to begin by December 31, 2026, and be completed no later than April 30, 2029.

The project is in review and no final decision has been made as of yet.
