Last week, Cirrus Aircraft broke ground on a new 45,000-square-foot facility at McKinney National Airport. According to Community Impact, the personal aviation company is investing $13 million into the project which will include a 15,000-square-foot service hangar and storage hangar as well as flight simulation space, retail store and customer lounge with viewing balcony.
Cirrus began operations in McKinney in 2019 before opening its first facility at the airport late 2021. The new building will enable them to expand their services including aircraft sales, flight training factory service and aircraft management – all of which currently employ over 50 people in the area with plans for more positions being added soon.
