**McCarthy Tops Out $126M CHI Memorial Hospital in Catoosa County**
McCarthy Building Companies has officially topped out the new CHI Memorial Hospital Georgia, located in Catoosa County, just south of Chattanooga. The 134,000-square-foot facility is part of the CommonSpirit Health network and represents a significant investment in state-of-the-art medical infrastructure for the region.
The project broke ground in March 2024 and is slated for completion in January 2026. With a total budget of $126 million, the development includes not only the construction of the hospital itself but also infrastructure, interior furnishings, and advanced medical equipment.
The new facility will serve as a replacement for the existing CHI Memorial Hospital Georgia. It will be connected to the current CHI Memorial Parkway building, creating a comprehensive anchor for the broader CHI Memorial medical campus.
Once complete, the hospital will offer 64 inpatient beds and feature a 28-room emergency department designed with the latest medical technology. Additional amenities include an imaging department, eight intensive care unit beds, and 56 medical-surgical rooms—including five designed for patient isolation.
Upgrades are also being made to adjacent facilities. The Rees Skillern Cancer Institute is being enhanced with a new waiting room, improved patient registration area, added storage space, and a new entrance. The connected physician office building is being renovated to include updated administrative offices.
The topping out marks a major milestone in the construction timeline and signifies continued progress on delivering improved healthcare access to the Catoosa County region.
