MBK Senior Living has started construction on a major renovation of The Bellettini, a seniors housing community located in the heart of downtown Bellevue, Washington. The company reported that this comprehensive project is now officially underway and is scheduled to reach completion in Summer 2026, setting a defined timeline for the modernization effort.
The renovation program is focused on revitalizing prominent shared spaces that shape the resident experience. Plans call for significant upgrades to the main lobby, which serves as the community’s primary arrival point, as well as to the concierge and valet areas that support day-to-day comings and goings. In addition, the renovation will refresh The Bellettini’s signature dining venues, which are central gathering places for residents and guests.
According to Brian Prouty, Executive Director of The Bellettini, the work is intended to balance continuity with change. He noted that the renovation is designed to honor what the community has been historically, while also improving how it feels for residents in their daily lives. The stated goal is to preserve the property’s established identity and relationships while updating its physical environment.
Prouty added that the vision for the project is to create spaces that feel both elevated and comfortable. The design approach emphasizes maintaining the social connections, day-to-day experiences, and sense of ease that residents value, while situating those elements within newly refreshed surroundings. The improvements are framed as a way to enhance quality of life on site rather than to reposition the property toward a different resident profile.
The Bellettini comprises 144 independent and assisted living apartments, making it a sizable seniors housing community within downtown Bellevue. The mix of independent and assisted living indicates that the property serves residents with varying levels of support needs, all within the same campus.
MBK Senior Living is described as a provider of independent living, assisted living, and memory care communities across the Western United States. While the announcement centers on The Bellettini’s renovation, it also situates the project within MBK Senior Living’s broader regional footprint in the seniors housing sector. The company is using this project to highlight its focus on updating existing communities and maintaining environments that align with evolving expectations of residents and their families.
As construction progresses toward the targeted Summer 2026 completion, the renovation is expected to reintroduce The Bellettini’s communal spaces with a more contemporary look and feel. The emphasis on shared areas such as the lobby, concierge and valet zones, and dining venues underscores the importance of these spaces in seniors housing operations and in supporting resident engagement.
