**Mayor Bowser, Development Team Celebrate Opening of Buzzard Point Residential Project**

Mayor Muriel Bowser recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the completion of Phase I of The Stacks — a nearly seven-acre waterfront neighborhood located in Buzzard Point.
This milestone inaugurates the first phase of development, comprising one million square feet of dynamic residential, retail, and coworking space, enriched by thoughtfully designed community green areas. Positioned at the confluence of the Potomac and Anacostia Rivers, The Stacks completes the transformation of the Southwest Waterfront and establishes a vibrant new destination in the heart of Buzzard Point.
Upon full buildout, The Stacks will encompass two million square feet of mixed-use space just one block from Audi Field and within walking distance of Nationals Park. The site includes 40,000 square feet dedicated to retail, including the newly opened FLEX Gym. Later this year, Launch Workplaces is slated to open an 11,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art coworking space.
This phase marks a significant step forward in the revitalization of the Buzzard Point area, introducing a new standard of urban living along Washington D.C.’s evolving waterfront.
