Excel Group, a real estate private equity firm, has appointed Matt Wexler as principal to lead the firm’s new structured capital strategy. This strategy will provide tailored and flexible capital solutions such as mezzanine debt and preferred equity for hotel assets to partners and borrowers.
Wexler brings over two decades of commercial real estate, development, and hospitality investment experience having founded Cascadilla Partners – a sponsor & consultancy specializing in hotel assets & non-performing/sub-performing loans – prior to serving as managing partner at Foxhall Partners & working as vice president at CIM Group.
