Matt Harvey Finds Second Act as Newmark Broker After Mets Career

Former New York Mets pitcher Matt Harvey has made the transition into commercial real estate, joining Newmark as a managing director in its multifamily debt origination and advisory unit. This was first reported by The New York Post.

Harvey expressed his enthusiasm for this new venture: “I’ve always been interested in the many different aspects of real estate. By joining an incredibly successful firm such as Newmark, I will be able to learn and grow from some of the best in the industry.”

He will focus on developing client relationships before pitching loans with Newmark’s Capital Markets Strategies unit under Anthony Orso, president of their Capital Market Advisory Group. Despite being new to this field, Harvey has already begun actively engaging with clients and colleagues; leveraging his team-building skills within multifamily and commercial financing sectors according to a source familiar with these matters.
