According to Jack Stanton from Marcus & Millichap’s Stengle Stanton Group who facilitated the transaction: “Investors from outside of Illinois are increasingly seeking higher returns in Chicago and often outbidding local private investors.” The South and Southwest neighborhoods have been particularly popular among these investors as seen by this record-breaking sale.
