Marcus & Millichap has played a crucial role in expediting the real estate licensing process for military service members participating in SkillBridge, a program by the U.S. Department of Defense that assists veterans with transitioning to civilian careers after their military service. This initiative is part of Marcus & Millichap’s Military Bridge to Brokerage Program, which aims to support and integrate veterans back into the workforce.
According to Tony Solomon, Senior Vice President and District Manager at Marcus & Millichap, “We take great pride in helping members of our armed forces kickstart their commercial real estate careers through our Military Bridge to Brokerage Program.” He further added that this program provides an opportunity for veterans (who make up only 1% of the population) to have a successful post-military career.
In collaboration with California Legislature and legislative partners, Tyler Theobald (First Vice President and General Counsel) stated that they drafted Assembly Bill 883 which fast-tracks real estate licenses for SkillBridge participants. The bill was unanimously passed by both houses of legislature before being signed into law by Governor Newsom on October 7th. It is hoped that this legislation will serve as an example for other states across various industries.
Aside from supporting current military personnel through SkillBridge legislation efforts, Marcus & Millichap also honors its late founder William A. Millchap who retired as Lieutenant from United States Navy prior his successful career in commercial real estate industry through its Military Bridge To Brokerage Program.
