"Manor Factory Receives Commitment from Samsung Supplier"

A South Korean company, Wonik Materials Co. Ltd, has purchased a 24-acre plot in Manor and plans to invest $46 million in building a new facility on the site. The factory will be located less than 20 miles from Samsung Electronics Co.’s $17 billion plant in Taylor. Wonik specializes in manufacturing specialty gases and chemicals for the semiconductor industry and intends to use the new facility for distribution, quality assurance, quality control, and production purposes. The company is also seeking incentives from the city of Manor.

The planned three-phase development along Old Kimbro Road will serve both current and future customers such as Samsung, NXP Semiconductors NV, Infineon Technologies AG,and Texas Instruments Inc., solidifying its commitment to supplying parts for these major electronics companies. This move further strengthens their partnership with Samsung as they continue to expand their presence within close proximity of one another.
