The City of Lake Oswego has officially begun construction on Rassekh Park, a new multi-purpose sports field, large playground, and skatepark. This 10-acre park was designed by Mackenzie, a leading architecture and engineering firm based in Portland, Oregon.
In addition to the sports field and skatepark, Rassekh Park will feature amenities such as parking with drop-off area access pathways for pedestrians and expanded walking trails. The project also includes the development of restrooms and a covered picnic area. A natural area surrounding Pecan Creek will be preserved as well.
Funded by the Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation bond money due to its high priority status, the groundbreaking event marked the beginning of this phased development plan. Phase I will focus on constructing a 10,000-square-foot skatepark designed by California Skateparks along with improvements for Stafford Road right-of-wayand construction of new restroom facilities.
