The fast-growing renewable energy company has signed a lease at the Class A office property, designating the building as its main base of operations in the city. The deal is located in the heart of downtown Washington, D.C., positioning the tenant within the core business district.
The transaction is the first lease completed under the building’s Town Hall program, a move-in-ready office concept introduced by Real Capital Solutions and MRP Realty. The program is structured to help tenants accelerate occupancy timelines by providing prebuilt workplace environments along with access to hospitality-focused shared amenities. This initial Town Hall lease establishes a benchmark for the concept at 1501 M Street NW and demonstrates tenant interest in turnkey space solutions in the market.
Lydian Energy focuses on developing and operating utility-scale solar and battery storage projects across the United States. The company reports a portfolio of more than 5,000 megawatts of projects that are currently under development and under construction. Lydian Energy is backed by Excelsior Energy Capital’s $1 billion Renewable Energy Infrastructure Fund II and is described as the fund’s first operating portfolio company. The firm currently has 55 employees working across more than 20 states and anticipates growth to approximately 70 employees in the coming months.
