**Lucid Motors Acquires Nikola’s Coolidge Manufacturing Facility**
Lucid Group has successfully acquired the Coolidge manufacturing facility previously owned by fellow electric vehicle manufacturer Nikola Corp. The deal follows Nikola’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in February, during which the company sought buyers for various assets.
According to reports, Lucid agreed to pay $30 million for the Coolidge plant, Nikola’s headquarters lease in Phoenix, and additional assets. The acquisition adds more than 884,000 square feet to Lucid’s existing Arizona operations, which already include a major plant in nearby Casa Grande.
Founded in 2015, Nikola employed over 850 people prior to filing for bankruptcy. As part of the acquisition, Lucid announced plans to offer jobs to more than 300 former Nikola employees, reinforcing its commitment to expand and invest in the region’s workforce.
This move solidifies Lucid’s growing presence in Arizona and positions the company for increased production capacity as it continues to scale operations.
