"Los Angeles Secures $900M in Infrastructure Funding for 2028 Olympics"

The Los Angeles region has received a significant boost in funding for critical infrastructure and transportation projects, totaling nearly $900 million. This investment will not only improve the city’s infrastructure but also help to reconnect communities ahead of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. President Biden recently signed into law a spending package that includes $709.9 million for LA Metro, which will be used towards expanding the Metro Rail system with projects such as the East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Transit Project and sections two and three of the D Line (Purple) Subway Extension Project.

Additionally, LA has been granted an additional $160 million from the Biden-Harris Administration to support street improvements, transit infrastructure upgrades, traffic safety measures, and better neighborhood connections.

According to Mayor Karen Bass: “During our recent delegation trip to Paris in preparation for hosting international events like Olympics and Paralympics Games in 2028; it was clear that we must act swiftly in strengthening our local infrastructure.” The mayor further emphasized on learning from successful housing developments as well as green transportation initiatives during their visit.

This announcement follows closely after Mayor Bass led an international delegation trip aimed at generating business opportunities while gaining insights on various housing development strategies along with sustainable transport solutions – all geared towards preparing Los Angeles ahead of its role as host city for major global events like Olympics & Paralympics games by 2028.
