### Site Selected for Nebraska Convention Center Development

Assemble Lincoln, the committee overseeing the development of Lincoln’s Downtown Convention Center, has officially chosen a location for the project.

The selected site, known as the Garfield Public/Private Site, is expected to serve multiple purposes, including hosting events, youth sports, and adult learning opportunities. Planning for the convention center began in 2020, with the site selection process commencing in the fall of 2023.

The convention center is projected to require an investment between $111 million and $120 million. Once completed, it is anticipated to generate $18.5 million in total annual economic output, supporting approximately 230 jobs and contributing nearly $1.3 million in tax revenue each year.

“A downtown convention center will greatly enhance our ability to attract meetings and groups to our community,” said Jason Ball, President & CEO of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce. “This is a tremendous opportunity for the Visit Lincoln division of the Lincoln Chamber to continue growing Lincoln as a destination as the tourism economy evolves.”
