**Eli Lilly Eyes $5.9 Billion Manufacturing Plant at Generation Park**

Eli Lilly and Company is considering building a $5.9 billion manufacturing plant at Generation Park, a 4,300-acre master-planned development in Northeast Houston aimed at attracting life sciences businesses. The company is evaluating a 236-acre parcel within the site for the expansive project.

The proposal includes the development of multiple buildings and outdoor facilities, installation of advanced machinery and equipment, and the construction of essential infrastructure. If approved and executed, construction is set to begin in 2026 and conclude by 2030, with operations expected to start in 2031.

The project would generate significant employment opportunities, including more than 2,000 construction jobs during the buildout and 604 permanent positions once the facility becomes operational.

Lilly has applied for tax incentives through the state of Texas under the Jobs, Energy, Technology and Innovation (JETI) program. The program allows school districts to cap the taxable value of a project site at 50% of either the appraised or market value for a 10-year period. If granted, the incentive could deliver substantial financial savings for the pharmaceutical company.

This potential investment marks a significant step in expanding Houston’s growing life sciences sector and reinforces Generation Park’s vision as a major hub for innovation and advanced manufacturing.
