The Liberty Hill City Council has approved a site plan for a new Costco Wholesale store to be constructed near the intersection of US 183 and Seward Junction Loop.

The development will span nearly 40 acres and includes a 156,000-square-foot retail store along with a fueling station that will feature 24 fueling spots. The cost of constructing the retail store is estimated at $62.6 million, while the fuel station is projected to cost $12.4 million. Both the retail and fueling components are scheduled for completion by the end of November.

Among Costco locations in Texas, the largest remains in Midland at 180,000 square feet. The state currently hosts 42 Costco stores, contributing to a nationwide presence of 628 locations across 49 states and territories.

In addition to the new Costco, Liberty Hill is also set to welcome its first Target store. The 147,000-square-foot retail space will be located between U.S. Highway 183 and State Highway 29. Liberty Hill, situated about 30 minutes north of Austin, is home to roughly 10,000 residents.
