Lendlease, a global integrated real estate group, has announced that the first residents have moved into The Reed at Southbank in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood. This 41-story residential tower features modern industrial apartments and condominiums with over 25,000 square feet of amenities.
The property is a hybrid multifamily building offering rental and for-sale homes as part of Lendlease’s seven-acre Southbank master plan community to help revitalize several blocks along the Chicago River. 224 out of 440 total residences are apartments ranging from 544 to 1,417 square feet with monthly rents starting at $2,205 for studios and convertibles up to $5,430 for three bedrooms. Additionally designed to achieve LEED Gold certification as well as Fitwel and ENERGY STAR certifications; The Reed was also the first building in Chicago using proprietary low-carbon concrete during construction.
