From May 1-5, Lendlease and McHugh Construction joined contractors across the country in celebrating Construction Safety Week and participating in OSHA’s National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction. Employees gathered on jobsites to discuss fall prevention, safety precautions, mental health and the week’s motto: “Strong Voices, Safe Choices.”
In New York City, Lendlease employees attended events at 310 Hudson Street and St. Patrick’s Cathedral (Manhattan) as well as 211 Station Road (Mineola), where they are constructing a facility for NYU Langone Medical Center. Meanwhile Chicago-based McHugh Construction held talks on fall hazards/protection at 225 N Elizabeth Street; Jet Tools gave a demonstration to 40 workers at Ogden Commons project located 1325 S Washtenaw Avenue.
Construction Safety Week is an important reminder of how vital it is for everyone involved with construction projects – from owners & developers through subcontractors – to prioritize safety measures that protect both people & property throughout all stages of development or renovation work
