Lendlease Building SOUTHCOM Army Housing Project

Veterinarians often express dissatisfaction with the living conditions they experience during their time in service. However, for members of the U.S. Army’s Southern Command (SOUTHCOM), this may soon change.

Lendlease, a leading global property and infrastructure group, has been awarded a $110 million contract to develop the first new privatized housing project for the U.S. Army since 2010 in Doral, Florida. The development will consist of approximately 75 family housing units and 60 two-bedroom apartments for unaccompanied service members near SOUTHCOM on a sprawling 51-acre site.

In addition to this project, Lendlease recently finalized ground leases at seven other U.S. Army installations as part of its Cadence Communities portfolio. With these agreements in place, Lendlease will oversee all aspects of development including construction, maintenance, and asset management activities within this portfolio.
