Leasing Activity in Boston Life Science Reaches Pre-Pandemic Levels

Leasing activity in Boston’s life science market has returned to pre-pandemic levels, according to second-quarter 2023 statistics from Cushman & Wakefield. While leasing activity slowed during the quarter, it is expected to rebound as Greater Boston remains a thriving hub for life science companies. Currently, 14.7% of the region’s 35.5 million square feet of lab inventory is available for lease and overall vacancy stands at 14.3%, higher than historical averages.
