Singapore-based food ingredient supplier Olam International recently signed a 15-year deal to occupy 80,000 square feet at 24 East Washington Street in Chicago, according to Crain’s Chicago Business. JLL brokers Matt Carolan and Christine Bower represented Olam in the transaction while Jack O’Brien and JD Parcheta of Telos represented Brookfield Properties. The agreement more than doubles the size of their current workspace from 35,000 square feet located at 200 West Jackson Boulevard owned by Nightingale Properties.
Nightingale is currently embroiled in a controversial crowdfunding scandal involving real estate platform CrowdStreet over missing funds raised from retail investors for properties they own with Nightingale located in Atlanta and Miami Beach. In 2018 Toronto-based Brookfield completed an extensive renovation on the upper floors of Marshall Field Building which was followed up this February with a 31,000-square foot lease there held by Indianapolis logistics firm Spot.
