### Lab Building Project Near Boston Medical Center Approved by Planning Board

The Boston Planning and Development Authority (BPDA) board has approved City Realty’s proposed lab building development at 17 Bradston Street in the city’s Newmarket neighborhood, according to the *Boston Business Journal*. The eight-story, 280,000-square-foot building will feature labs and offices on the upper floors, with high-bay industrial space on the ground floor.

In recent years, the BPDA has received fewer applications for lab projects. Lab buildings have been opening with significant vacancies across the region as demand for such spaces has declined.

The development team emphasized to BPDA board members that the property’s proximity to Boston Medical Center will support its viability. City Realty originally proposed the project in 2021.

“It may not be your traditional lab tenant, but there are great opportunities for medical support and research,” said Josh Fetterman, director of real estate development and construction at City Realty.
